Kharge to attend Cong village chiefs' meet in Hyderabad; TPCC chief slams Kavitha, BRS

All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge will be the chief guest at the village presidents' commemoration programme being organised by the Telangana Congress at Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday.

Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud said the event is expected to witness the participation of around 40,000 Congress leaders and workers, including village, mandal, and district presidents, Ministers, MLAs, MPs, and Corporation Chairpersons.

Kharge will also address the gathering under the theme Social Justice Samara Bheri and will give key directives to the village-level Congress presidents to strengthen the party at the grassroots.

Taking a sharp dig at BRS MLC K Kavitha, Goud described her recent letter to AICC President Kharge as "strange and ironic." He questioned whether the letter was written in her capacity as a representative of BRS or on behalf of the cultural wing Jagruthi. "It is bizarre to see Kavitha, who remained silent for a decade, now suddenly speaking on BC issues," he remarked.
