Search for justice is not over

THE court has spoken. The country watched with heavy hearts as Judge Nathan Erasmus handed down life sentences to Kelly Smith, Jacquen Appollis and Steveno van Rhyn.

They were found guilty of kidnapping and trafficking six-year-old Joshlin Smith, who vanished without a trace in February last year.

The timing was sobering, just as Child Protection Week began, a case that exposed the most brutal betrayal of a child came to a grim conclusion.

Erasmus did not mince his words, he said there was no remorse. Not one of the three showed any concern for Joshlin, even as her family begged for answers.
