FOCUS ON PEDESTRIANS' AND CYCLISTS' SAFETY

- By LORNA HUGHES

WORK is starting on a major redesign of Addenbrooke's roundabout.

It will get wider paths and crossings to make it safer for pedestrians and cyclists - in a project that was fast-tracked after the death of a cyclist hit by a petrol tanker at the roundabout in 2021.

Phase one of the project will see the central island of the roundabout reduced to allow for the carriageway to be widened.

This will allow for paths and crossings to be widened.
