100% success rate at national level of trial

THE latest national four-day working week trial, involving 17 companies and nearly 1,000 workers, has concluded with a 100% success rate, it was announced last Thursday.

All 17 companies have opted to continue with a shorter working week following the end of the trial.

The six-month trial started last November and was coordinated by the 4 Day Week Foundation, who advocate for a “four-day, 32-hour working week with no loss of pay for workers”.

They argue that the conventional nine-tofive is an outdated work model that “no longer suits the realities of modern life”.

According to the Foundation, workers will benefit from a higher standard of rest and leisure time, reduced childcare and commuting expenses, and less stress from cramming all personal ‘admin’ into unsociable hours or the weekend.
