Trump's Envoy Likely to Visit Russia Tomorrow

Tensions are rising as the deadline set by US President Donald Trump for a Russia-Ukraine peace deal draws near.
Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, is expected to arrive in Moscow midweek, just ahead of Friday's deadline for Russia to halt its military offensive or face fresh US sanctions. His visit will follow stops in Israel and Gaza.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Moscow is open to engagement, calling talks with Witkoff "important, substantive, and very useful" but declined to say if the proposed trip was taking place at Moscow's request. According to news agency Tass, Witkoff will be in Moscow on Wednesday.
