Hold awareness meets on G RAM G law: Centre to panchayats

The central government has directed all gram panchayats across India to convene special gram sabhas (meetings) to explain the key provisions of the newly enacted rural employment law, VB-GRAMG law before December 26.
The Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act, 2025 replaced the 20-year-old MGNREGA after the President’s assent and a gazette notification.
According to an official letter issued a few days back, the gram sabhas should ensure active participation of villagers, workers, women, SC/STs households, and other vulnerable groups.
