THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) Region has issued a Notice of Violation (NOV) to the proponent of the El Nido Motocross Race Track project in barangay Villa Libertad, El Nido, Palawan, for undertaking development activities without securing the required Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC).
Operating or conducting development activities without an ECC is a violation of Section 4 of Presidential Decree 1586 or the Philippine Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) System Law.
