Ladies battle but Shrews are too strong

HOCKEY: Burton Ladies firsts were defeated 3-0 at unbeaten Shrewsbury.

Initially Shrewsbury struggled to keep up with the pace of Burton's passing across the back line and they were able to probe their wide positions making advances up the pitch.

Shrewsbury were really thrown by the move, but a very lucky goal that saw the home team with a ball trickling over the line to go into half time 1-0 up.

The second half saw Burton, with a couple of changes in positions, pushing for some faster play.

However that resulted in the home team also upping their pace and they soon scored a second goal, Burton were pushing up the pitch a lot more in the second half, which was creating a lot more space on the pitch.
