CALL FOR ACTION ON ROAD AFTER DEATH OF MAN

- By JOSEPH RICHARDS

MEASURES to stop speeding at Blithfield Reservoir were discussed at a meeting following the death of a 25-year-old.

An MP, representatives from Staffordshire County Council's highways department, and the police attended the meeting at Admaston Village Hall.

It was arranged earlier this year to discuss problems caused on the B5013.

But since then Wesley Williams, from Smethwick, died when he was involved in a collision with a car.

Reducing the speed limit, installing speed cameras, improving signs and introducing traffic-calming measures such as chicanes were all suggestions discussed at the meeting but there is no formal proposal to introduce any of these ideas at this stage.
