BID TO TURN FAMILY HOME INTO FIVE-ROOM PROPERTY FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS

- By JONATHAN SUTTON

HMO plan to house hospital workers

A THREE-bedroom family home in Burton could be turned into home for hospital workers and professionals, if borough planners agree.

Applicants have revealed the proposal for the property in Dover Road, in an application for it to become a five-room house in multiple occupation (HMO).

The proposals involve rendering the front and side of the building, constructing a new kitchen diner and replacing windows.

A maximum of five tenants would occupy the property and, according to planning documents, they must be in employment, ideally at Queen's Hospital, located more than a kilometre away, or elsewhere in the healthcare sector.
