Witness appeal Man in hospital after street attack

POLICE are investigating a serious assault on a busy street in Bristol on Saturday morning.
Police near the scene of the attack in St Pauls on Saturday
Officers were called to the scene on Ashley Road by the ambulance service at around 5.30am.
The police later confirmed that one person was in hospital in a serious but stable condition and they issued an urgent appeal for witnesses to come forward.
A section of Ashley Road, near The Criterion pub and a number of other businesses, was closed in both directions with officers taping off the scene and manning the area.
