Ton-up Robbins shines in crucial Hanham victory
Bristol Post
|August 25, 2025
SKIPPER Ross Robbins' first century of the summer paved the way for Hanham to clinch a 94-run victory away to fellow strugglers Cleeve and take the battle to avoid relegation from the Martin Berrill Sports Bristol & District League's Senior Division down to the final weekend.
The last three sides look set to drop down this year because of events in WEPL, and with only 14 points separating the bottom four, there is still everything to play for.
Hanham moved up a place to eighth courtesy of this crucial win, with opener Robbins finishing unbeaten on 110 from 133 balls (12 fours, two sixes) in a total of 227-7 after winning the toss.
George Charles-Price (4-31 from nine overs) was then the pick of the bowlers as Hanham closed out the win, with Robbins fittingly taking the final wicket. His side now have 162 points going into their final game of the campaign, at home to ninth-placed Claverham (159), while Cleeve, who are last on 157, are away to Coalpit Heath with Portishead (171) in seventh away to Stapleton.
