Nest of yellow-legged invaders can eat 11kg of local bees in a season

SOMERSET Beekeepers Association (SBKA) is urging people to keep a look out for Asian hornets.

The organisation is asking people to report any sightings of the invasive yellow-legged insect, pictured right, as part of the British Beekeepers Association's Yellow-legged Asian Hornet Week, which starts today.

The invasive species has so far been spotted mainly in the South East.
