Jewson/Hellenic Paulton power on in Premier with seventh successive win

PAULTON Rovers made it seven wins on the spin with an outstanding 4-1 Jewson League Premier Division victory at a Sidmouth Town side that had also been in excellent form.

Kyle Witt broke the deadlock with a 37th-minute back-post header from Martin Lenihan’s cross, and Kitan Jaiyeoba made it 2-0 just two minutes later with a deflected strike.

Sam Gleeson pulled a goal back for Sidmouth in the 55th minute, but a headed goal from Tom Bradley and an Elliot Hoffenden effort wrapped up the win for Kieran Baggs’ side.

Paulton are now within one point of leaders Clevedon Town after the Seasiders went down 1-0 at home to Buckland Athletic, another club with promotion ambitions. Ben Carter's deflected 88th-minute goal won it for the Devon side.

Brislington made the long trip to Helston Athletic in Cornwall and came away with three points from an impressive 3-1 success. Harrison Kyte’s 17th-minute goal gave Bris the lead at halftime, and although Helston drew level on 55 minutes, Bris took the spoils thanks to further strikes from Shea Mannings and Paulo Borges.
