Jewson/Hellenic Hallen and Thorns win through to Vase second round
Bristol Post
|October 20, 2025
ALLEN and Thornbury Town may both be struggling in the Hellenic League Premier Division, but both stayed on the Wembley trail with first-round wins in the FA Vase.
Hallen enjoyed an excellent 3-1 win against Jewson League Premier Division opponents Newquay at Moorhouse Lane.
A back-post header from Sam Iles gave Hallen the lead on 16 minutes, and Elliot Gardner added the second 10 minutes later. Louis Price's 30-yard strike gave Newquay hope just before the break, but that was killed off when Cory Thomas-Barker cracked home a third Hallen goal in the 70th minute.
Thornbury Town progressed with a 5-4 victory on penalties at Fairford Town following a goalless draw in 90 minutes.
Clevedon Town have had some good Vase runs in recent years, but their hopes were ended by a 4-3 penalty shootout defeat at home to Cinderford Town. Charlie Saunders struck just before the break for Clevedon, but Jaxson Hundit equalised for Cinderford in the 82nd minute.
