Malan left Yorkshire by mutual consent earlier this week - even though the 38-year-old signed a two-year contract extension to the end of 2026 last December.
Malan, who made 22 Test appearances for England, joined Yorkshire from Middlesex in 2019 and scored 3,656 runs across 78 appearances in all formats. He said: “I have enjoyed six happy and successful seasons with Yorkshire, but feel now is the right time for the club to make a fresh start.”
Malan, who also played for Middlesex for 13 years, and during his five years in Yorkshire he became a central figure in their T20 setup, captaining the side in 2025 and finishing as the club's leading Blast run-scorer in both 2023 and 2024.
He won the forerunner to the Vitality Blast with Middlesex in 2008 and has lifted The Hundred trophy twice, first with Trent Rockets in 2022, where he finished as the competition’s top run scorer, and the Oval Invincibles in 2024.
