Council appeals for drivers amid missed bin rounds

NORTH Somerset Council has appealed to residents to help drive its bin lorries as the area is hit by a wave of missed collections.

Many households across the district have found their recycling and garden waste has been left uncollected on bin day this summer.
Yesterday the council expected that recycling collections would be missed for 90 roads in and around Nailsea, while 99 roads in Clevedon would miss their garden waste collections.
North Somerset Council has apologised for the delayed and rescheduled collections - which it put down to the summer holidays leading to shortages of drivers.
On Tuesday a breakdown at the depot further impacted collections.
