SOUND ADVICE TO HELP EVERYONE ENJOY THE CURRENT CLIMATE BUT BEWARE OF THE DANGERS INVOLVED WITH TIPS ON STAYING SAFE
THE past couple of week have been the hottest weeks of the year across Lincolnshire, but revellers have been warned to watch out for jellyfish and grumpy swans when they go for a swim.
Temperatures hit 28 degrees on the east coast, 30 in Lincoln and 31 in Louth on the summer solstice, and the RNLI put an extra lifeguard on duty at Skegness to keep everyone safe as sunseekers felt the temptation to throw off their togs, and leap into the sea.
Ice cream sales have soared, picnics have been enjoyed on the beach and wild animals have frolicked in the water in the local wildlife parks.
Lincolnshire residents have been asked to provide a fresh bowl of water in their front or back garden, which can be a life saver for our wildlife when conditions are like these.
Warnings have been issued about Weever Fish and Jellyfish on the beaches of the East Coast, particularly Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea.
Lianne Havell, the coordinator of Sutton Beachcare said: “Weever fish have poisonous barbs and can do some serious harm to feet.
