All you need to know to help your air show weekend take off

Thousands of people are expected to wing into Blackpool this weekend for the resort's annual air show.

The full lineup of magnificent flying machines that will perform at this year's show has been unveiled - from supersonic fighter jets, to stunt displays and even a vintage seaplane.

The free two-day show, on Saturday and Sunday, will feature thrilling displays from a wide range of military and civil aircraft, including a spectacular display by the RAF's world-famous Red Arrows aerobatic display team.

Bosses say the team changes its show to ensure it remains "dynamic, innovative and true to the Red Arrows' pedigree of providing a nonstop, flowing and entertaining performance".

Since its formation in 1964, the Red Arrows have amazed crowds worldwide with nearly 5,000 shows in 57 countries.

The air show will also see a display from the RAF Typhoon, which is partly manufactured at BAE Systems in Warton, near Blackpool.
