New Irish bar planned by owners of Snobs club

THE owners of Birmingham nightclub Snobs will open a new Irish bar at the site of a former club in Birmingham city centre.

Players bar, located at 240 Broad Street, was a victim of the pandemic when it closed down in 2022 despite regularly attracting huge crowds.

The former club, which was put on the market at the end of last year, has sold for £2.5million on a long leasehold.

It was purchased by the owners of Birmingham’s well-known Snobs nightclub.

Snobs owner Wayne Tracey said: “We shall shortly start development of a new Irish bar to add to the city’s growing stock of top quality hospitality venues.

“The new bar to be named with a personal touch to the team, and reflective of their Irish heritage, will be opening in the first quarter of 2026.
