Westwood eggs on upbeat Bears for Easter clash

IAN Westwood has challenged Warwickshire to use the confidence from their dramatic win to improve again when they take on Nottinghamshire in an early season top-of-the-table clash.

The thrilling one-wicket victory at Durham on Monday, chasing down a target of 339 runs on the final day, left the Bears joint top of Division One alongside newly-promoted Sussex and Nottinghamshire, who head to Edgbaston today to start their four-day Easter weekend contest.

Westwood stressed there are no easy fixtures in Division One and the Bears must bring their best against their Midland and table rivals.

"They've got a nice balance to their attack, some good batters, and they'll be confident having won and drawn one, and made a solid start to the season," said first-team coach Westwood.
