Two seriously injured in explosion at house

TWO men suffered serious burns in a Black Country house explosion.

The emergency services received multiple calls after a severe blaze broke out at a property on Shrewsbury Close in Bloxwich, just before 9.30pm on Monday.

Firefighters were met with a “challenging scene’, involving an extensively damaged two-storey, mid-terraced house with flames affecting neighbouring properties.

Residents were evacuated from neighbouring properties and a local church provided shelter with volunteers from the Red Cross also offered support.

Paramedics found one man who did not wish to be assessed and was discharged at the scene.
