Signs error sees bus stop parkers escaping tickets
Birmingham Mail
|November 26, 2025
COUNCIL bosses have admitted traffic wardens have been unable to issue tickets to drivers who park in front of a bus stop because of a 'signage issue'.
Motorists have reportedly been plonking their cars right in front of the bus stop opposite McDonald's in Northfield town centre without fear of getting a penalty notice.
Meanwhile, passengers are having to step into the busy road when the bus arrives because of the parked vehicles.
Community campaigner Paul Smith spoke to traffic wardens and claims he was told they were unable to target the offenders because the council had not 'updated its system' to show that tickets could be issued at the spot.
