These new glasses could be a game-changer for the hard of hearing

EssilorLuxottica has already teamed up with Meta to make the Ray-Ban smart specs, but its new work focuses on hearing - meet the Nuance Audio hearing glasses.

Nuance Hearing is another EssilorLuxottica sub-brand, and it has launched two styles of glasses that have built-in boosters for your hearing. They look just like regular glasses, so no one will ever know.

The glasses have mics that pick up surrounding sounds and pipe them through an amp to speakers housed in the arms of the specs - which are positioned to send the enhanced sounds directly into your ears.

It’s all controlled by an app, of course, which allows you to tailor functions to your specific needs according to your circumstances.

You can ask it to amplify general sounds, or just those from the direction you are facing.
