NEW SCHEME OFFERS SUPPORT AND THERAPY

- GURDIP THANDI Local Democracy Reporter

A MOTHER-OF-TWO whose health issues affected her work says a unique programme in Birmingham helped her overcome her issues.

Joanna Kuls has worked as a senior team leader for a lorry company for more than 12 years, but started suffering issues with her back, which resulted in her needing to take weeks off - time off she couldn't afford to have.

But she was referred to the WorkWell pilot project, being run in East Birmingham and North Solihull, and received support to help her get back to work full time.

WorkWell is one of 15 being run in the country until March next year and was set up with £1.7m funding from the government.
