Kris says Mauritius move proves life in the slow lane has its advantages

A BIRMINGHAM 'influencer' who moved to Mauritius says life on the island takes some getting used to.

Growing up in Billesley, Kris Lutchmayah left in 2011 and relocated to the country where his father is from.

Holding dual citizenship and a home on the island already, the transitional period seemed smooth sailing.

For many, Mauritius is the ultimate honeymoon destination with gorgeous beaches, friendly people and great weather.

But Kris had a warning for anyone wanting to make the island their home. He said: “Mauritius might look nice on a postcard but it's completely different when you live somewhere.

“You're there all the time and have to learn the ways and integrate yourself with locals.
