I had ringside seat when Blues DID get job done at Wembley!

THE Wembley Stadium icing on the cake melted on Sunday in an otherwise excellent season for Birmingham City.
-
The 50,000 Bluenoses who trekked down from the Second City were disappointed and surprised at their team’s poor performance.
But they should console themselves that this competition does not compare with winning promotion back to the Championship, even if that was not much to consider in the immediate aftermath of this shock result.
This Vertu Trophy is only for EFL League One and League Two clubs and 16 selected Premier and Championship under-21 academies.
Peterborough, full of young players, deserved to retain the title on the day.
They marked Blues out of the game, aided by Birmingham's poor passing at times.
The Blues had plenty of possession - 70% - but the finishing was not there.
A sharp contrast to Peterborough’s two well taken goals - Harley Mills, once an Aston Villa trainee - scored after 15 minutes with a brilliant free-kick before his captain Hector Kyprianou swept in a goal at the end of a fine Posh move.
It finished 2-0 with the Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson, son of Sir Alex, making it three EFL Trophy wins to add with another he won as a player.
His club are the first to win this trophy in consecutive seasons.
This was Birmingham's first defeat at Wembley since losing the 1956 FA Cup final.
They had won three in a row before this weekend.
