A NEIGHBOURS’ row is brewing in a “lovely” Midland street after a feature branded an “insult to planning regulations” was ordered to be removed from a new home.

Nearly a dozen householders objected to a retrospective planning application for a boundary gate and wall at a new-build property in Lovelace Avenue, Solihull.

And they were backed by councillors who refused permission despite a recommendation for approval from officers.

The saga began last May when applicant Trevor Coates submitted a retrospective application for the retention of a boundary wall, gates, piers and railings to Solihull Council.
