Hate crime pledge as Pride gets under way

POLICE and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster has stressed his commitment to tackling hate as Birmingham Pride gets under way.
Before taking part in today’s Pride Parade through the city centre, Mr Foster said there was no place for any kind of hate.
The PCC invests £150,000 a year into a dedicated West Midlands-wide service which offers emotional, personal and practical support to people who have been subjected to hate crime.
He has also put funding in place to provide additional support for LGBTQ+ victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
Mr Foster said Pride was the perfect time to reflect on the progress made - and what more can still be done.
