AN uninsured driver took police on a chase across Smethwick in a bungled attempt to evade officers - even though he had two deflated tyres.

Mohibullah Faraz ‘panicked’ when he realised police were tracking him and decided to accelerate away in a bid to evade justice.

But the 20-year-old was eventually detained when a police dog bit his arm and pulled him to the ground after he ran from the car.

Wolverhampton Crown Court heard how a black Honda Civic was reported stolen to police on May 13, 2024.

A police officer spotted the vehicle on ‘cloned number plates’ in Cape Hill five days later, prosecutor Ammo Khanna said. Faraz was behind the wheel and was seen driving at ‘high speed’ towards a roundabout at the street’s junction with Grove Lane.
