Couple jailed for trafficking and modern slavery

PAIR GAINED £735K FROM SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF WOMEN TO MEN AROUND THE COUNTRY
A COUPLE have been jailed after police discovered more than a dozen women were victims of human trafficking and modern slavery.
Luigi Cucu, aged 46, and Costela Soare, 37, both of Smethwick, Sandwell, were rumbled after West Midlands Police acted on reports of women being advertised online for prostitution.
The pair were arrested in March 2023, leading police to discover that 14 women had been victims of the couple's crimes from January 2018 until March 2023.
In one case, a female victim had been trafficked into the UK in 2015 and transported to various locations across the country.
