Ambitious 'Digbeth gateway' goes in front of city planners

A £100 million 'gateway to Digbeth' promising hundreds of new homes has been submitted to council planners.
A prime piece of land, near Birmingham Coach Station, would be cleared to make way for the Phoenix Yard development, with plans for 240 homes and various commercial spaces.
Property developer Hartwell PLC, the company behind the proposals, said it would build on a 2.8acre brownfield site, next to Coventry Street, which it called "outdated and under-utilised"
