Bath Rugby have confirmed that former England international winger Ruaridh McConnochie, Springbok scrum-half Louis Schreuder, hooker Niall Annett and prop Arthur Cordwell will leave the club at the end of this current 2024/25 season.

- John Evely

McConnochie has announced he will be retiring from rugby to move into coaching after an impressive career, having run out for England Rugby's senior men and Team GB's Rugby Sevens at the Rio Olympics in 2016, where he won a silver medal. Just this week, McConnochie was named Clubman of the Year at Bath's end of season awards.

Schreuder departs having joined the Blue, Black and White from Newcastle Falcons in 2022 and previously played for clubs in South Africa, where he was a three-time Currie Cup winner, Japan and France.

Annett is returning to his former club Ulster to take up a coaching role, while academy graduate Cordwell is also retiring despite being just 26 years-old.

Bath head of rugby Johann van Graan said: “Ruaridh is one of the best human beings I have coached. As a player he is always diligent and always gives 100 per cent regardless of the circumstances.

“Ruaridh made a massive contribution in the three years I have been at the club, and he will finish his playing career as a respected and valued leader and player in the Blue, Black and White.”
