Thais step up engagement with Africa

Thailand is intensifying its economic engagement with Africa, identifying the continent as one of its strongest emerging markets amid an evolving global environment, says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

The strategy was outlined on Friday during a meeting between the MFA and private-sector representatives focused on advancing economic diplomacy and expanding Thai business opportunities in Africa.

Speaking after the meeting, Urasa Mongkolnavin, director-general of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, said Thailand views African countries as key partners for long-term economic cooperation.
