Prawit says PM 'unfit to govern'

Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) leader Gen Prawit Wongsuwon yesterday accused Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra of being an amateur, causing the economy to fail and risking Thailand's territorial integrity.

Ms Paetongtarn responded, saying these were baseless claims.

Gen Prawit, a PPRP party-list MP, delivered his first no-confidence speech slamming the Paetongtarn Shinawatra government on the first day of the censure debate.

"As the head of an opposition party, I signed a motion against Ms Paetongtarn," Gen Prawit said. "She is unfit to continue governing due to her failure to solve the economy as promised. Workers were laid off. Companies shut down. Household debt is at 104%. Agricultural prices have fallen, and the stock market has dipped to a three-year low."
