Prachin Buri locals voice opposition to EEC plans

Local communities raised objections at a recent public hearing on the proposed expansion of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) in Prachin Buri province, citing the likely effects it will have on the local environmentand people’s livelihoods.

Governor Weeraphun Dee-on hosted a public hearing on the plan on Thursday, attended by some 600 people from the government sector and the local community, who voiced their opinions on the draft policy proposal of the expansion plans of the EEC.

Their concerns are expected to be submitted to the cabinet after September, said the governor.
