PCD reports high pollution levels

Higher levels of hazardous smog can be expected this week as unfavourable weather conditions trap air pollution in many parts of the country, the Pollution Control Department (PCD) has warned.

According to the PCD, orange levels of air quality have been recorded in the Northeast and parts of the Central Plains,

The government-set safe threshold for PM2.5 is 37.5 microgrammes per cubic metre (µg/m³).
