New hearing date set in Nescafé case

The Min Buri Civil Court has set June 20 as the hearing date to issue a decision following a supplementary petition filed by Nestlé requesting the president of the Court of Appeal for Specialized Cases to clarify the jurisdiction of the Min Buri Civil Court.

This follows the same court issuing a temporary injunction in favour of the Mahagitsiri family regarding Nescafé's business in Thailand.

Nescafé is produced locally through a joint venture called Quality Coffee Products Ltd (QCP), equally owned by Nestlé and the Mahagitsiri family.

However, the joint venture agreement ended on Dec 31, 2024 and the shareholders have been unable to agree on the future direction of QCP.

Prayudh Mahagitsiri, a shareholder of QCP, filed a petition with the Min Buri Civil Court seeking an injunction.
