'Lifestyle medicine' gains traction as super-aged society looms

As Thailand approaches the status of being a super-aged society within the next six years, lifestyle medicine is gaining recognition as an essential approach to promoting graceful longevity among its rapidly expanding senior population.
Dr Kobkarn Chunhasawatdikul, director of MedPark Well-Healing and a veteran with over 26 years' experience in longevity and wellness science, believes that living longer gracefully is a cornerstone of sustainable healthcare for older adults.
As one of the key speakers at the Bangkok Post forum "Living Well, Living Long: Inspiring the Future of Ageing", she said sustainable healthcare for older adults rests on three key principles — slowing the ageing process, shortening the period of illness, and achieving a dignified death.
"All of this begins with awareness and proactive engagement in lifestyle medicine," Dr Kobkarn said.
