Any Cambodian nationals encroaching on Thai soil will be subjected to strict law enforcement, set to take effect after Oct 10, says Sa Kaeo governor Parinya Phothisat.

Authorities have set an Oct 10 deadline for the submission of a detailed evacuation plan for Cambodian nationals encroaching on Thai territory in Khok Sung ahead of the next General Border Committee (GBC) meeting.

The deadline follows a confrontation on Sept 17 at Ban Nong Ya Kaeo in Khok Sung district, where more than 200 Cambodian protesters clashed with Thai authorities. Thai police used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters.
