Kingdom’s futsal stars ready for Asian Cup challenge

»Thailand’s national futsal squad have departed for Indonesia for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026, where they will contest in Group B alongside Vietnam, Kuwait and Lebanon.

The squad, trimmed to 14 players under new head coach Rakpol Sainetngarm, left Bangkok yesterday following a three-week training camp.

Rakpol, appointed earlier this month, said the group had responded well to the limited preparation time and was ready to compete.

“Our team is prepared because we had 20 days to work together,” he explained. “At the beginning we were concerned about the short window, but the players focused and understood the tactical plans. There are still areas to improve, but we will use the remaining days before the first match to sharpen the team.”
