Gold steady as weaker dollar supports demand

Gold prices were little changed last week despite a rally on Friday as a weaker US dollar and ongoing geopolitical and economic uncertainty spurred safe-haven demand.

The afternoon fixing on Friday in London was $3,355.10 an ounce, compared with $3,352.10 a week earlier. Thai selling prices were quoted at 51,400 baht per baht-weight (15.2 grammes), down 50 baht from the previous week.

"Concerns around growth in US debt and further tariff updates are likely to keep gold in focus, and for now the floor looks well supported," said Suki Cooper, precious metals analyst at Standard Chartered Bank.
