FUNERAL FOR A CAR FORMS ARTIST'S AFTERLIFE ALLEGORY
Bangkok Post
|February 10, 2026
Bangkok Kunsthalle invites everyone to pay respect to a car as it passes from one realm to another during "Forever Love Soul Engine’, which is running until March 15.
-
Pansan Klongdee's 'Forever Love Soul Engine'.
This is an installation by Pansan Klongdee featuring a BMW E34 recovered from a junkyard in the Rama II area. Caught in purgatory, the car remains physically intact yet fated to be dismantled. It occupies two states simultaneously — no longer fully a vehicle, not yet reduced to scrap.
This in-betweenness becomes the point of departure for the installation’s inquiry into the afterlife of nonhuman entities and the rituals through which they are acknowledged, transformed or released.
