Firms prefer dissolution to provide business clarity

Businesses expect a clear political environment going forward and believe House dissolution is the best option.

Thienprasit Chaiyapatranun, president of the Thai Hotels Association, said the business sector prefers political clarity, enabling them to plan their investments and business direction accordingly.

He said having an interim government to address urgent issues, particularly border skirmishes, is better than allowing a caretaker government with limited power to extend its role while awaiting the new general election.

“House dissolution is the best option as it returns political power to voters. However in this circumstance, we're concerned the election may not take place within the time frame of 45-60 days if there is a political tug of war,” said Mr Thienprasit.
