Charter vote question gets cabinet approval

The cabinet has approved the government's proposed charter referendum question and forwarded it to the Election Commission (EC), says Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, expressing hope that the vote can be held on the same day as the House election on Feb 8 to save costs and avoid future legal confusion.

Mr Anutin said that the decision on the referendum's timing ultimately rests with the EC.

He noted that holding both events separately could cost an additional 4 billion baht, which the government wants to avoid.
