BJT lines up 3 PM candidates

Senior figures in the Bhumjaithai Party (BJT) are weighing a three-candidate lineup for the post of prime minister, with Sihasak Phuangketkeow and Suphajee Suthumpun expected to join party leader Anutin Charnvirakul in the running, although Mr Anutin has yet to formally confirm the two nominations.

A party source said the emerging configuration reflects BJT’s effort to project breadth and balance by combining political leadership with strengths in foreign affairs and economic management. Mr Sihasak, the foreign affairs minister, has been increasingly mentioned since his high-profile role in explaining Thailand's position during recent border clashes with Cambodia, a move party insiders believe has enhanced public confidence in the government's handling of the situation.
