Activist urges EC to probe Pirapan's shareholdings

Political activist Sonthiya Sawasdee yesterday called on the Election Commission (EC) to launch a probe into Energy Minister Pirapan Salirathav-ibhaga’s alleged shareholdings in four companies.

Mr Sonthiya urged the agency to investigate whether Mr Pirapan’s alleged holding of these shares infringed on the constitution and the 2018 organic law on the election of members of parliament.

Mr Sonthiya submitted additional evidence to support his allegations.

“If Mr Pirapan is confident he doesn’t hold shares in the four companies as accused, he must come forward to confirm his innocence,” he said.

Mr Sonthiya said he would next petition Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra to launch an investigation into the minister's alleged misconduct.
