Kirkwood hits out at WoSFL chiefs after revamp talks considered late

Jimmy Kirkwood has blasted talk of league reconstruction as ridiculous and says it was a farce that it was being debated at this stage of the season.
The long serving gaffer, who is bidding to keep Troon in the top three in the Premier, says he is delighted to hear that it isn’t happening this summer.
Kirkwood hit out:"I'm glad to be back focusing on football after so much talk about league reconstruction the last wee while, delighted to hear that it isn’t happening this summer.
"For that to even be put on the table at this late stage of the campaign is just ridiculous for me. You absolutely cannot shift the goalposts at this late stage when teams have been fighting and giving their everything all season.
"You need to know what you're playing for when the season begins, otherwise it just becomes a bit of a farce.
"Love or hate the reconstruction proposal, you can accept it if you know it in advance and can plan accordingly, but that should be the minimum criteria for something like this.
There's too much at stake for everyone to accept anything less.”
A spectacular Jack Allan strike with a minute to go earned Troon a 1-1 draw at Shotts after the hosts led through an Ally Martin penalty.
AUCHINLECK have slammed a congested fixture list ahead of Sunday's West of Scotland Cup final against Largs at Broadwood.
Both teams will be playing their sixth game in three weeks with Talbot athome to Drumchapel tonight (Wednesday).
