National Trust unveils its Christmas activities for all the family

THIS festive season, the National Trust is inviting visitors to experience the magic of Christmas at its places across the Peak District and Derbyshire.

From historic houses dressed in festive finery, to enchanting trails through winter landscapes, visitors can enjoy a season full of wonder and tradition.

The Tale of Misrule and the Holly King at Hardwick Wintertide

The raucous party at Hardwick runs from next Monday (November 17) to January 4 offering both daytime and evening visits by lantern light. The evening opening dates: November 28&29; December 5&6; 12&13; and 19 to 22.

Step into a world turned upside down at the ‘lantern house; where the mischievous Lord of Misrule reigns supreme. Wander through rooms and gardens transformed by festive folklore, with nature running riot and tradition playfully cast aside.

Hear tales of Wintertide past, from the Holly King to the Tale of Misrule, and discover a celebration where storytelling, spectacle and seasonal mischief take centre stage.
