Buoyant Jones: 'Best is still to come from us'

NORMANDY Cricket Club captain Chris Jones believes that if his side continue to play like they did on Saturday then they will have a good chance of securing promotion from Surrey Championship Division One.
Despite two losses this season, Normandy were in fine form at the weekend as they secured a seven-wicket success at Valley End.
Losing the toss and seeing their hosts opt to bat first, may not have been the ideal start to the match, but it proved to be a good toss to lose as Normandy reduced Valley End to 12-2 before a slight recovery.
Two move quick wickets saw the home side go from 75-2 to 77-4 before three quick wickets had Valley End go from 109-4 to 116-7.
With Valley End moving on to 154-7, Normandy wrapped up the innings in the 44th over with the home side dismissed for 161.
Neal Prowse was the pick of the Normandy attack with 4-33, but Jones was impressed with all his bowlers.
"We played really well on Saturday, we were brilliant actually, it was the first time that we put it all together," the Normandy captain said. "We have got a really strong group this year, it was good to get it all together.
